Concrete Keepsake Inclusions

Concrete statuary and keepsakes are a beautiful way to honor a loved one, an accomplishment, or a memory. Concrete statuary and keepsakes are in our daily lives to create a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Lait de la Vie will include your special inclusions in a new style of keepsake to enjoy indoors and outdoors. Although Lait de la Vie specializes in keepsakes with breast milk and/or other inclusions (ashes, flowers, etc), you may also purchase a concrete keepsake with only concrete. If you would like to combine breast milk, ashes, or other special inclusions, please select the corresponding option. Please keep in mind that inclusions will likely not be visible blended in concrete. If using breast milk, your preserved breast milk will be mixed with the water to create the concrete. We recommend using an inclusion that may blend evenly in the concrete for the best results.

Concrete Inclusion Effect

Because concrete is solid and opaque, blended inclusions will not be visible through the concrete. If you would like for your inclusions to be visible on the outer surface of the concrete statue or keepsake, please choose to have us coat the outside of the statue with resin. Choosing this option will include the entire outer surface of the concrete keepsake to be coated with your special inclusions secured within the resin. The resin we use for statuary is UV and moisture protective, but should still be placed in a safe environment for lasting beauty and durability. Please know that the resin coating the concrete with inclusions will not be perfectly smooth, may contain minimal surface bubbles and may be uneven depending on the type of inclusions included and the statue it is included on. Please specify any specifics in your order notes. If no notes are included, we will use our discretion. We can not guarantee a final look on any keepsakes or statuary.

Sending New Milk/Inclusions?

If you have sent extra milk for a previous order, we may be able to use it for a new order. Leftover milk is saved for up to a year. Please confirm that we have your leftover milk before choosing this option. We can not use leftover inclusions such as flowers, hair, ashes, etc. If you are using leftover milk and are sending new inclusions, please select the second option and include your leftover milk order number in the order notes.

Concrete Paint Effect

Paint used for concrete statues and keepsakes are acrylic water-based latex paint. Most paint used on concrete are specifically made for exterior use, however, specialty paint effects such as metallic, glitter, shimmer, color shifting, neon, and other similar "special" effects may not be specifically for exterior use. It is recommended that any of the special paint effects be kept out of direct sunlight. Over an extended amount of time, specialty paint and bright colors may fade depending on the amount of sun, care and environmental effects of the concrete's surroundings. If you would like to make a custom paint request, please select the custom option and include your details of what you would like in your notes. We can not guarantee any final looks, but will do our best to complete your vision. If you do not want your concrete keepsake painted, please select the "No Paint - Concrete Only" option.

Concrete - Clear Enamel

Please select the type of clear enamel you would like to be used on your concrete statues and keepsakes. Clear enamel is used to add a "final touch" and extra protection and shine to your concrete keepsake. Glossy enamel will add extra shine, and matte will be without shine. You may also choose an enamel with a special effect such as shimmer, glitter, etc.

Concrete - Flakes In Resin

If you would like to add flakes to the surface of your concrete statue and keepsake, please understand that the flakes will be secured in resin on the outside of the entire concrete statuary and keepsakes. Choosing this option will include the entire outer surface of the concrete keepsake to be coated with your choice of flakes secured within the resin. The resin we use for statuary is UV and moisture protective, but should still be placed in a safe environment for lasting beauty and durability. Please know that the resin coating the concrete with flakes will not be perfectly smooth, may contain minimal surface bubbles and may be uneven depending on the type of inclusions included and the statue it is included on. Please specify any specifics in your order notes. If no notes are included, we will use our discretion. DO NOT choose yellow gold, rose gold, or silver flakes if your statue or keepsake will be outdoors or in a high moisture area. Yellow gold, rose gold, and silver flakes will oxidize and turn green when exposed to long term moisture. We can not guarantee a final look on any keepsakes or statuary.

Our concrete dragonfly stepping stone is the perfect lawn ornament for your garden or home. You may create this concrete keepsake stepping stone with breast milk, ashes, or more! We can paint it how you wish and I include glitters and flakes to give it some sparkle.

Our dragonfly concrete stepping stone on display is custom painted per requests and contains breast milk, flowers mixed in the concrete with a few visible in the surface. Angel wing flakes were included in the wings, and the entire stepping stone was coated with a UV resistant epoxy resin.
